SUBSTATION REPLACEMENT JOINTS & TESTING
Summary
HES client completed installation works of a new substation, and required expert skill to perform terminations and cut-over joints, followed by cable and earth testing. This scope of work required a contractor with extensive cable knowledge, with the ability to work around clients mandated deadlines, and safety requirements.
Each of the 9 cut-over tasks required executive planning to ensure that downstream shutdowns were coordinated to coincide. Many of the jointing works required our team to be working within confined spaces, with some joints up to 3m below surface.
Solution
HES were able to provide two teams of highly skilled technicians to plan and execute these works. A field specialist in HV cables and jointing, and an experienced HV Technical leader were engaged to run each area of expertise. Co-ordination with the client representative and schedule planning, ensured we prioritised our resources to meet their needs.
OUR
TESTIMONIAL
As core members of the “team” your efforts this week have been way above normal. From the unplanned TX51 failure on Saturday, bit of a shaky start on Sunday with the phasing issue to where we are today, ahead of plan, it has been absolutely exceptional. As Contractors you have integrated seamlessly into our team and I appreciate the ownership and effort of yourselves and your teams in this weeks work – no safety issues, some good banter and bucket loads of successful outcomes.
