20MVA TRANSFORMER INSTALL AND COMMISSIONING
Summary
Client is undergoing site expansion and installing a new 12km overland conveyor and primary crushing plant. As this expansion required utility services, a new transmission line was required to supply power.
HES was engaged to install a 20MVA step-up transformer and all associated equipment to power this transmission line. This included supplying critical items such as NER, HV cable, Tx Differential Protection Relay, as well as specialist subcontractor labour for craneage, fibre optic techs, overhead line techs.
Solution
HES were able to supply a team of 5 highly skilled technicians and engineers to undertake works on roster over a 5 month period. Our cross-trained technicians were able to complete multiple disciplinary works including underground conduit installation, earth grid installations, HV cable pulls, installation, crane lifts, transformer assembly, jointing and commissioning. Our team were able to work safely in conjunction with multiple specialist contractors to deliver the works.
