3 Yearly Major HV Maintenance

Summary

IHES were engaged by Tianqi Lithium to complete 3 yearly major maintenance and testing of its Kwinana facility. The original Scope of works included maintenance & testing of transformers, LV & MV switchgear; LV protection modifications and testing, calibration and metering testing of LV CT’s and 132kV protection relay testing. During the planned scope, additional works were found and identified for priority rectification – 2.5MVA Transformer leak and missing capacitive plugs on 22kV terminations.

Solution

HES mobilised a team to conducts works over a 2.5 week period. Our highly skilled supervisors, engineers and technicians were adept in identifying key repairs that were necessary and were able to complete these tasks in the short timeframe of the outage. Due to our longstanding key supplier relationships, our operations team were able to swiftly secure the supply of additional capacitive plugs and transformer parts to complete all additional repairs.

All planned works were completed within the scheduled timeframe and the client were able to re-energise with all works completed safely
