Solution

HES specialist technicians mobilised to site within a few days of notification. Technicians re-configured switching arrangement and protection scheme to enable power to site to continue un-interrupted.

During the investigation of the 132kV circuit breaker operation, it was found the closing spring has lost its strength and a replacement was needed. A broken positioning switch was also found, which was replaced with modified spare. A bypass switching arrangement was left in place to enable continuous supply.
